Meet Fred – A True Boulder City Treasure

Fred is one of our most cherished Senior Center members and a living piece of local history. Born before Boulder City was even built, Fred’s stories offer a rare glimpse into our town’s earliest days. From his father's work as a High Scaler on the Hoover Dam to his own adventures building homes and raising a family here, Fred’s warmth, wisdom, and wit make him a beloved part of our community.

Interview with Frank (That Nice Guy) and Joan

Meet Frank & Joan – A Love Story Full of Heart and Humor

Frank and Joan are one of Boulder City’s most cherished couples, and it’s easy to see why. Married for over 65 years, their bond is built on love, laughter, and a lifetime of shared adventures. Joan, a retired registered nurse, and Frank, a former salesman and business owner from upstate New York, made Boulder City their home 13 years ago—and we’re so lucky they did.

In their spotlight interview, they share stories from their remarkable careers, their journey west, and the deep sense of community they’ve found at the Senior Center. As regulars and proud volunteers, Frank and Joan embody warmth, generosity, and the joy of living life side by side.

Interview with Becky - Part 1

Remembering Becky – A Life of Love, Laughter, and Sparkle

Becky was a cherished member of the Boulder City Senior Center, known for her elegance, warmth, and unforgettable spirit. Born in Mexico and full of determination, she built a beautiful life—from opening her own salon in Texas to dedicating 25 years as a caregiver to the elderly.

Her passion for helping others continued right here at the Center, where she volunteered in the library and brightened every room with her kindness and charm. Whether she was sharing her legendary homemade tacos, telling stories with a twinkle in her eye, or enjoying her favorite slot machine at Railroad Pass, Becky truly lived life to the fullest.

Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and pure joy. We’re so grateful she was part of our Senior Center family—and she’ll always hold a special place in our hearts.
